Talk:Submissions/CLEF 2011 - Semi-automated Artificial Intelligence to assist editing: An opportunity for Wikimedia sites

Queries

  1. We already make very heavy use of automated and semiautomated editing tools - on some wikis the bots account for more edits than the regulars. Is this presentation about opportunities to take that further, or about opportunities to do that with AI?
  2. If AI allows us to do things differently, then historically hard problems include automating the reversion of spam edits with the same success as the way we deal with vandalism. We also have constraints around copyvio and plagiarism, our tools for spotting that are reliant on searching the web, and this puts us into conflict with search engines due to the volume of queries. An AI application that knew which sentences were most likely to be copies would be useful. WereSpielChequers (talk) 16:07, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
