Hey Pharos, thanks for your response regarding accommodation for WTM, well noted your suggestion regarding HI NYC, but I fear there are very few beds remaining, am scheduled for US visa interview on Tuesday, if everything goes well I ll definitely book at least my bed on Tuesday itself or Wednesday, just hoping that until Tuesday, 6-9 July does not get reserved. I saw the FINAL SIGNUP at the googleform just now, and when I click on it, it said "The form 'Wikimania Takes Manahattan' is no longer accepting responses."

I wondered whether there's still seat on WikiBus now and whether I can sign up for the WTM now.

Saturday Governor's Island event, heads up on heat!

Hello Pharos, You probably already know that Saturday in NYC is forecast to be 100ºF (with heat index values as high as 104, west wind 5-8 mph.) Some people could develop problems with heat exhaustion? Just wanted to see if you had an idea for a place nearby that is shaded and maybe even air-conditioned in case anyone has problems on account of the extreme heat. Also might be good to tell people to bring fans, umbrellas for shade, tarps to provide more shade (if can be supported by bamboo poles) extra water, and so on.
