Expert participation

This topic could fit into several of the currently proposed tracks - should it be explicitly mentioned in some of them? --Mietchen 12:16, 9 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Very belatedly, yes, and good point. Thanks! Metabrarian 20:16, 30 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sounds good. Please let me know if I can be of help. --88.74.228.233 22:11, 30 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

WikiExpedition

The event schedule is well-planned. Thanks for the effort. I've registered for Wikimania 2012 on 12-14 July, and also for 15 July. However, I've no idea on the schedule on 15 July. What is WikiExpedition? Is that tour around Washington? I'm planning also to extend my stay in Washington after the conference. Thus, it would be good if the schedule on 15 July is listed in detail on the "Schedule" page in order for participant like me, to plan their personal trip ahead. Thank you. --NusHub (talk) 07:34, 7 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

WikiExpedition is not a tour of DC, it is a photography competition. I've posted the information at this page. Mitch32(There is a destiny that makes us... family.) 21:19, 4 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Is there's a map of the locations of rooms?

I think a map of the location of rooms is necessary to decrease the time attendees find rooms. --Shujenchang (talk) 13:30, 11 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Chapters Council

At the Berlin Chapters meeting there was agreement that the Chapters Council would be meeting in Washington in conjunction with Wikimania. What time period will be available for this? For me, I need to know this so that I can book my flights. Eclecticology (talk) 06:23, 17 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

My assumption is that it will be at some stage during the conference itself - ie. during July 12-15, so it shouldn't affect those who have already booked flights. But then again, this is only my assumption! -- Chuq (talk) 02:36, 18 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
It seems my assumption was wrong! meta:Berlin_Agreement states the first meeting will be on July 11, whereas this schedule page has just recently been updated to include meetings on July 10-11. (this is being discussed on the chapter mailing list at the moment). -- Chuq (talk) 00:19, 14 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Pls check out the official schedule that we have now. We are going to have that meeting before the main days. --OrsolyaVirág (talk) 05:56, 20 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for that - when will we find out whether it is July 10, July 11, or both (or some other combination?) I have accommodation booked in Philadelphia for the nights of July 9 and 10 and need to know if I need to cancel or not. -- Chuq (talk) 00:31, 21 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Both, see: Schedule. --OrsolyaVirág (talk) 05:57, 21 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

VIP Party

The original Schedule/en said there would be a VIP Party - participation by invitation - on Thursday evening. Is this just for Bronze level sponsors and above, or is there a definition of VIP somewhere? I suspect that if I have to ask, I'm not eligible!-Gadfium (talk) 01:24, 3 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

It seems that it is an old schedule. There's not the "VIP Party" on the lastest version on the schedule. --Shujenchang (talk) 08:36, 4 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

WikiExpedition

Just to want people to know that I, as the host of WikiExpedition, have posted the page explaining most of the details at this page. Signup is also there.Mitch32(There is a destiny that makes us... family.) 02:32, 5 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Times are goofed

There's a missing two-hour gap Saturday between 17:30 and 19:30. Marcus Qwertyus (talk) 04:36, 20 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Because that is free time and time to have meetings. We officially close Wikimania at 5-5.30PM on Saturday. --OrsolyaVirág (talk) 05:54, 20 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Problems while printing the schedule

The schedule is getting messed up when I print the printable version. The column on the far right doesn't get printed properly. I tried to save the schedule as a PDF but still the problem persists. What might be the reason? Nataev (talk) 09:47, 2 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

What browser do you use? Ruslik (talk) 17:06, 2 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
I tried to print the schedule using Chrome and Firefox. Nataev (talk) 17:44, 2 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
In Chrome I have no problem. What do you mean by "doesn't get printed properly"? Ruslik (talk) 18:13, 2 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

You can pick up the program bokklet next week, by yourself, you don't need to print! ;) --OrsolyaVirág (talk) 18:14, 2 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

That's no answer - one likes to plan. Johnbod (talk) 07:51, 5 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Only half of the last column is getting printed. I think it has to do with the size of the paper I'm using. The US letter size is wider than the A4 size. I will try to print it again later. Thank you! Nataev (talk) 18:34, 2 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Google Calendar

I am wondering why can't we set up a shared google calendar that can be openly published for viewing so that everyone can easily sync it to their smartphones, PCs etc. Apart from having it handy all the time, users can enable offline and online reminders of various types as they wish. It will laso act as a fine anchoring diary / memento for them.

As for me and a few of my team members, we are already preparing a similar one. Wouldn't mind publishing a modified copy open. Viswaprabha (talk) 01:11, 7 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
