Talk:Semantic MediaWiki Meetup

From Wikimania 2012 • Washington, D.C., USA

Hi,

As far as I know, we haven't been formaly contacted about this meetup, and I am sorry to say but we most likely cannot ensure a room for you on that day. Could you implement it into Hackaton, perhaps? --OrsolyaVirág (talk) 17:18, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, how is the placement of meetups supposed to work? Can the Wikimania rooms be used? Also - how would one "formally contact" the organizers, and why isn't that information on the Meetups page? Yaron Koren (talk) 17:42, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If you wanted to use one of the Venue's rooms, you should have asked the Program Committee to ensure the space. As you can see, we are very limited now. Others organized their meetups months before the Congress and adressed their request to us.
The page actually says: "You are responsible for finding your own room to use for the actual meetup". But let me check with the other members on the team, then I will get back to you. --OrsolyaVirág (talk) 18:01, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I actually don't see that space is limited, but maybe I'm missing something; as far as I can tell, three rooms are still available during that time. Anyway, thanks for looking into it. Yaron Koren (talk) 18:11, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

On Friday, all of our rooms are available until 19:00. I've discussed this with Orsolya, and we recommend Room 310, which is being used for the tech track. Harej (talk) 19:18, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cool, that's great to hear - thanks. Yaron Koren (talk) 14:42, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
