The Dupont Circle Hotel is located on the north side of Dupont Circle at New Hampshire Avenue.

Directions

From Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

Metro
  1. Take the yellow line train from the Reagan Washington National Airport metro station in the direction of Fort Totten (or Greenbelt, if rush hour).
  2. Get off at the Gallery Place-Chinatown station (6 stops).
  3. Transfer to the Red Line in direction of Shady Grove
  4. Get off at the Dupont Circle station and you will exit at Q St
  5. Walk south on Connecticut Avenue one block to Dupont Circle, go left around the circle and you should see the hotel (between 19th St and New Hampshire Avenue).
Metro fares
  • $3.80 with paper farecard during rush hour
  • $3.05 with paper farecard, non rush hour

Note: If you are travelling between Reagan Airport and the hostel (or anywhere) on July 13-15, please allow at least 30 minutes extra time due to track work on the yellow/blue line near the airport. You will have to take a shuttle bus between the airport and the Pentagon City metro station. [1]

Note: You can buy a SmarTrip card ($5) from a dispenser machine in the Reagan Airport metro station. This will save you $1 on each metro ride and can be used on the bus.

Taxi
A taxi ride between the airport and the hostel should cost around $23 + ~$2-3 dollars tip.

From Dulles (airport) to the hostel

  1. Take the Metrobus 5A in direction of Rosslyn / L'Enfant Plaza. ($6 cash or SmarTrip card)
  2. Get off at the Rosslyn metro station.
  3. You can get on the DC Circulator bus which goes to Dupont Circle (via Georgetown)
  4. The DC Circulator bus will drop you off on 19th St, between N and Dupont Circle.
  5. Walk north on 19th St to the circle and walk across the circle to the north side.
  6. You should see the hotel, which is between 19th St and New Hampshire Avenue on the north side.
Alternative from Rosslyn metro
  1. Take the blue/orange line train in direction of Largo Town Center
  2. Get off at Metro Center station
  3. Transfer to the Red line in direction of Shady Grove
  4. Get off at the Dupont Circle station and you will exit at Q St
  5. Walk south on Connecticut Avenue one block to Dupont Circle, go left around the circle and you should see the hotel (between 19th St and New Hampshire Avenue).

  • $2.70 - non rush hour, with cash / paper farecard

Note: You can buy a SmarTrip card either in the Rosslyn station from a machine, or if it's a weekday, the Commuter Store inside the little shopping center next to the metro station should be open and sells them.

From BWI Airport

If it's a weekday before ~9pm
  1. Go to the lower level (baggage) and catch a shuttle bus to the BWI Airport rail station
  2. Take the MARC train (Penn Line) from the BWI Airport rail station to Union Station in Washington DC ($6). The last MARC train from BWI leaves at 9:32pm on weeknights. During rush hour, trains depart approximately every half hour, and during other times, approximately once an hour. For details, please check the schedule on the MARC website. [2] (Penn Line SB)
  3. Take the Red Line metro train from Union Station in the direction of Shady Grove
  4. Get off at the Dupont Circle metro station
  5. Walk south on Connecticut Avenue one block to Dupont Circle, go left around the circle and you should see the hotel (between 19th St and New Hampshire Avenue).
If not a weekday or after ~9pm (or alternative to the above)
  1. Walk to the bus stop outside the baggage level, at Concourse A/B or the International terminal
  2. Take the Metrobus B30 (costs $6 cash) from BWI Airport to the Greenbelt metro station (green line)
  3. Take the Green Line to the Gallery Place-Chinatown station
  4. Transfer to the Red Line in direction of Shady Grove
  5. Get off at the Dupont Circle station and you will exit at Q St
  6. Walk south on Connecticut Avenue one block to Dupont Circle, go left around the circle and you should see the hotel (between 19th St and New Hampshire Avenue).

  1. Walk across Dupont Circle to New Hampshire Avenue on the south side
  2. Walk 3 blocks to 21st St NW and turn left
  3. Walk 5 blocks south on 21st St, crossing over K St and Pennsylvania Avenue
  4. The Marvin Center is on 21st St, between H and I St; Lisner Auditorium is at 21st & H

Note: There is no J Street. :)
