Abstract (at least 300 words to describe your proposal)

The aim of the following proposal is to make a quick overview of Wikisource, analyzing the project from the perspective of digital libraries. In the talk, I would check the state of development of Wikisource, examine advantages and disadvantages of our current setup and investigate directions of improvements. The talk would give some insights of what Wikisource could become in few years, given proper technical development. As an exerpt, some of the features and issues likely to be discussed in the presentation are here listed:

Features
Issues
  • lack of metadata standards and management
  • lack of protocol for importing and exporting [3]
  • lack of proper handling of born digital documents
