Talk:Submissions/History of the Murder of Meredith Kercher Article

From Wikimania 2012 • Washington, D.C., USA

I managed to create the page with an improper title. I see now I should have left the "Submissions" part in place. Perhaps and admin or somebody who knows how to do this can fix it. Thanks! PhanuelB (talk) 00:00, 15 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Was it considered to invite editors from the opposing ("European") side of the conflict to join this presentation? Regards, Tbayer (WMF) (talk) 08:14, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tbayer (WMF), thanks for the feedback and question.
For the 25 minute presentation I had not really envisioned inviting someone of the opposing POV. I had toyed with the idea of asking one of the other blocked editors to talk for maybe 5 minutes but I doubt that will happen. I would certainly welcome the commentary of those with all POV on this topic.
I and the other 12 blocked editors don't even have the ability to go to the article talk page and alert people of a possible Wikmania presentation on this subject. Feel free to go there and let them know. Be advised, though, that the same admins who worked so hard to block everyone with a POV they disagreed with will come here and lobby hard to make sure that no one gets to hear this presentation.
One note, I have been criticized off-wiki and on-wiki for characterizing some opponents as "European." I've studied this subject pretty closely and the contrast between US and European perceptions of the case is both real and notable. I don't think it's insulting to call someone European. There might be an issue with this Wikimedia software. A lot of times when I open up this page I get an older version. Plus on this last edit it said plain as day I was signed in yet the edit saw only an IP address. No big deal. PhanuelB (talk) 14:42, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
