Talk:Submissions/So few women editors: an analysis and proposal

children

I wouldn't say that women playing the major role in child rearing was the number one reason for their low participation level on wiki; we underepresent parents of children whether male or female, but for some reason we attract childless men far more effectively than we attract childless women. However attracting empty nesters and retired women is certainly a sensible tactic. WereSpielChequers (talk) 23:56, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Global education program

I'd suggest not putting much hope on the global education program, after the Indian fiasco it is at best a program under a cloud; At worst a suspect and troublesome program under close community scrutiny. If you want to look for areas where we are more likely to attract women editors I'd focus on the GLAM program, and of course as you mentioned the greying of the pedia. There are lots of retired women on the internet, we only need a tiny proportion of them to transform the movement. WereSpielChequers (talk) 23:56, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
