I am a research applications programmer in the Research Institute at Gallaudet University, the only accredited liberal arts university for deaf and hard of hearing students. Gallaudet's campus is also home to an elementary school and secondary school for deaf and hard of hearing students. I am a long-time advocate of the use of Free Open Source Software (FOSS), particularly in educational environments, currently serving as the team contact for the DC Ubuntu LoCo and a co-host of the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) Learning Club. Additionally, I am interested in sustainable urban living and public transit / cycling / pedestrian concerns.
