- Abstract (at least 300 words to describe your proposal)
In this time lots of people speak about GLAM, but for Wikipedia aren’t important only photographs and other materials from galleries, libraries, archives, and museums. In the shadow of GLAM project is proceeding, getting text materials and most importantly taking pictures in companies, factories and many other industry places. Really lots of materials from GLAM project are at wikipedia now, but pictures from industry are needed too. Our situation in these themes is a bit same as in GLAM project, but not as many people as in GLAM are interesting in this.
Presentation will be about processing with great companies: Why do we need free photography contents from these companies? Why are only a few pictures at Commons from unpublic places? Why is better to take photographs there on your own and not take over their pictures? What is the best to photograph in industry companies?
These questions are important for us, but for companies, which we processing are important another things? What Wikipedia can offer to us? Why is for us good to let someone to take photographs in our area? These questions of our partners are, of course, important for us too. Can we offer free photographs to them? What about licences? Can we offer some kind of publicity? Which kind of publicity is for us admittible and which not?
Author of presentation is a member of Wikimedia Czech Republic and photograph. He has lots of experiences with taking photos in primarily non-public places. He took photos for example in trains of second Czech biggest railway operator RegioJet, in Prague incinerator, or in nuclear bunker under Prague. In a negotiation is cooperation with Prague traffic transport company; this will be include lots of photos from unpublic places like background of underground or depots. In progress is also cooperation about photos from four kinds of power plants in the Czech Republic – heat, water, wind and nuclear.
