Euro vs. USD

The Wikimania is in the US, so why does the partial scholarship uses Euro instead of USD? Bennylin 11:17, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi Benny! The only reason was because last year we quoted the price in Euro and we were trying to keep that constant. It won't be distributed in Euros, don't worry! Jwild 13:22, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, Jessie. Bennylin 10:18, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

Decision delay

I appreciate that we're all volunteers, and that "beggars can't be choosers", but do we have an update on when decisions will be announced, please? Pigsonthewing (talk) 13:56, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Anticipated for the end of next week! Jwild (talk) 19:47, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
Do you mean around Friday 20 April? If so, I think we should update the information as that is later than early April. CT Cooper · talk 21:28, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
It's even later than mid April. Airwolf (talk) 00:46, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
Early April has clearly been and gone, so the information needs to be updated. Based on the information provided by Jwild, I am going to take the liberty and update the dates. CT Cooper · talk 09:24, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
Thank you! Jwild (talk) 20:06, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Next week, as in April 20? Hoo boy, getting an appointment for a visa interview will gett progressively touhger

And there are other problems relateed to the delay as well. To me, for example, the delay has already resulted in a loss of an equivalent of at least 200 USD, because I am still unable to book plane tickets for my second professional excursion. Will the organizers make up for all the trouble and losses resulting from the delay? What if someone is unable to obtain a visa, because they will have too little time?
